Back to School!

Where did summer break go! Even though this summer was far from normal, I can't believe how fast it went by and that school starts today! I am beginning my senior year from college and all the emotions are going through my head. To top it all off, everything will be online and I know this transition will be hard since we are so used to have traditional classes. So, I have rounded 5 tips that have helped me in this transition and I hope they help you as well!

1) Get a Planner! I know everyone says this but it is truly so important to have a space dedicated to writing down all of your tasks. School is already overwhelming as it is and you probably have 100 and one things running through your mind, so why not take a little bit of these things and just write them down to make sure you do not forget! I am usually drawn to really cute planners and I feel like when I do have a cute planners, it helps me keep motivated in writing things down!

2) Develop a Routine! Before, you knew you had to wake up at least an hour before your class, get ready go to class, then to another one and another one and then you had a break and so on. Now, you can literally wake up 10 minutes before class and just turn on your computer and you'll be set to go. However, this is not a good thing to follow since you might get a little "lazy." I would suggest to follow the same routine as you would pre-covid to make sure you are the most productive!

3) Organization! Last semester, when my school went fully online, I found myself working from my bed and that was not good. There were papers all over the place and I knew I would loose something important one day. Make sure you have a space that is just for your school work, either a desk or a table or even a room in your house.

4) Reward yourself! If you manage to study or finish an assignment without distractions, reward yourself either by grabbing a snack or taking a break! You deserve it! I usually find it helpful setting up timers when I start an assignment so I know not to get distracted and finish in time.

5) Be kind to yourself! These times are very stressful so don't feel bad if you are not on top of everything! You are doing the best that you can and that's all that matters. Remember that you and your health comes first and nothing is more important than you!
